FTC Compliance, Nigerian Law & Disclosure Obligations
This disclosure page is published in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guidelines, the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) regulations, and relevant provisions of Nigerian consumer protection and advertising laws including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018 and guidelines from the Advertising Standards Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
As a Nigerian financial content platform with global reach, TurnetFinance is committed to meeting the highest standard of disclosure across all applicable jurisdictions. We believe transparency is not just a legal requirement — it is the foundation of trust between us and the Nigerian readers and users we serve.
The FTC requires that any material connection between a website and the brands or products it recommends must be clearly disclosed. A “material connection” includes receiving compensation, free products, or other benefits in exchange for mentioning, reviewing, or linking to a product or service. This disclosure applies to all content on turnetfinance.com.ng including articles, blog posts, tool recommendations, sidebars, social media posts linked from this site, email newsletters, and any other content we publish.
Important Legal Notice
Nothing on TurnetFinance constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. Our content is for informational and educational purposes only. Affiliate links and partnerships do not imply an endorsement of a product’s suitability for your specific financial situation. Always conduct your own research and consult a qualified financial advisor before making financial decisions.
What Affiliate Marketing Means on TurnetFinance
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based revenue model where TurnetFinance earns a commission when a reader clicks an affiliate link on our platform and takes a qualifying action — such as signing up for an account, applying for a loan, making a deposit, or completing a purchase — on a partner’s website or app.
The commission is paid to TurnetFinance by the partner. You do not pay anything extra as a result of using our affiliate links. In most cases, using our links may even give you access to promotional rates or signup bonuses not available through the partner’s regular website.
When you see any of the following on TurnetFinance, it may be an affiliate relationship:
- A “Get Started” or “Apply Now” button linking to a loan app, savings platform, or financial service
- A product review or comparison that includes a link to sign up or apply
- A sidebar or banner advertisement from a specific financial platform
- A “Recommended” badge or “Our Pick” label on a tool or service
- A featured placement in a Best-of list or ranking article
- Any link accompanied by text like “Partner,” “Sponsored,” or “Affiliate”
Our Promise on Affiliate Links
We mark affiliate content clearly. We do not create fake reviews. We do not promote products we have not independently researched. Our editorial team evaluates every partner against the same standards regardless of commission value.

Editorial Independence — How Partnerships Affect Our Content
This is perhaps the most important section of this disclosure. Many Nigerians have encountered “review” websites that effectively function as hidden advertisements. TurnetFinance is built on the opposite principle. Our editorial policy is firm on the following:
Our tools — including the Loan Calculator, Budget Planner, Salary Breakdown Tool, Cost of Living Calculator, Loan App Comparator, and all others — are built using publicly available data, our own research, and verified market rates. No partner can pay to have their rates misrepresented in our tools. If a tool shows that a particular loan app is the most expensive option, that information is published regardless of our relationship with that app.
Sponsored Content Policy
TurnetFinance accepts sponsored content from financial brands relevant to our Nigerian audience. Sponsored content is any article, guide, tool feature, newsletter section, or social media post for which we have received payment or other compensation from the featured brand.
All sponsored content on TurnetFinance is subject to the following mandatory requirements:
- Every piece of sponsored content carries a clear, prominent “Sponsored,” “Partner Content,” or “Paid Partnership” label at the top of the piece — not buried in small print at the bottom
- Sponsored content must be factually accurate. We verify all claims before publication regardless of who wrote the content
- Sponsors do not have editorial control over unsponsored articles about their products or competitors
- We retain the right to decline or modify any sponsored submission that we believe misleads Nigerian consumers
- Sponsored articles are clearly excluded from our editorial rankings and “Best of” lists unless independently verified to qualify
- The author of a sponsored piece and the commercial relationship are both disclosed within the content
- Sponsored content does not override our right to publish independent critical reviews of the same brand
Lead Generation — What It Means for You
Lead generation is when TurnetFinance facilitates a connection between a reader interested in a financial product and a financial institution or service provider. When this occurs, the financial institution pays TurnetFinance a fee for delivering a qualified lead.
Lead generation on TurnetFinance may occur in the following ways:
- Inquiry forms: If you fill in a form expressing interest in a loan, insurance plan, mortgage, or investment product through our platform, your information may be shared with one or more partner financial institutions
- Eligibility checks: Tools that allow you to check eligibility for a financial product may pass anonymised or identified data to partners based on your answers
- Comparison clicks: Clicking “Apply Now” or “Get This Rate” buttons in our comparison tools may initiate a lead referral to the relevant institution
- Newsletter opt-ins: Signing up for our newsletter may, with your consent, include sharing your email with financial platform partners for direct marketing
Your Data Protection Rights
We do not sell your personal data without your explicit consent. Any lead generation involving identifiable personal information is disclosed at the point of collection with an opt-in mechanism. You can review how we handle your data in our full Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting info@turnetfinance.com.ng.
Data Collection, Cookies & Tracking for Advertising
To deliver relevant advertisements and measure the effectiveness of our affiliate campaigns, TurnetFinance and its third-party advertising partners use cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies. Here is what this means in practice:
- Affiliate tracking cookies: When you click an affiliate link on TurnetFinance, a tracking cookie is placed on your browser. This cookie identifies you as a referral from TurnetFinance when you complete a signup or purchase on the partner’s site, allowing us to earn the appropriate commission. These cookies typically last 7–90 days depending on the partner.
- Ad network pixels: Google AdSense, Propeller Ads, Adsterra, and other ad networks we use may place their own tracking pixels on TurnetFinance pages. These pixels collect data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time on site to serve targeted advertisements.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our platform. This data includes pages visited, session duration, device type, and geographic location. This data is anonymised and used solely to improve our content.
- Facebook Pixel: We may use the Facebook/Meta Pixel to track conversions from our social media advertising and to build custom audiences for future advertising campaigns. This pixel collects data even if you are not logged into Facebook.
- Retargeting: Third-party networks may use cookies set during your visit to show you advertisements for TurnetFinance or our partners on other websites after you leave our platform.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or through our cookie consent tool. Opting out of advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use any feature of TurnetFinance.
Third-Party Links & External Websites
TurnetFinance contains links to third-party websites, apps, and platforms. Some of these links are affiliate links (as described in this disclosure). Others are provided purely for informational purposes with no commercial relationship.
Regardless of the nature of the link, TurnetFinance is not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or financial products offered by third-party websites. When you leave TurnetFinance by clicking any external link, you are subject to the terms and privacy policy of the destination website.
- Affiliate links are disclosed in the relevant content or within this disclosure page
- Editorial links (e.g., citations, references to news sources) carry no affiliate relationship
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of information on third-party websites even when we link to them
- Third-party loan apps, savings platforms, and financial institutions operate under their own regulatory frameworks and we are not responsible for their actions
- Users are encouraged to read the full terms and conditions of any financial product before applying
Your Rights as a TurnetFinance Reader
As a reader and user of TurnetFinance, you have the following rights regarding our commercial relationships and how they may affect you:
- The right to know whether any content you are reading has a commercial relationship behind it — which this page fulfils
- The right to ask us directly about any specific affiliate or advertising relationship on this platform
- The right to opt out of push notifications at any time without losing access to any TurnetFinance feature
- The right to use a browser ad-blocker without being penalised or denied access to our free tools
- The right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you that was collected for lead generation or advertising purposes
- The right to report any content you believe is misleading, inaccurate, or undisclosed advertising to our editorial team
- The right to receive responses to disclosure or data-related queries within 48 hours on weekdays
Our Commitments to TurnetFinance Readers
We created TurnetFinance because we believe Nigerian readers deserve financial content that is honest, accurate, and genuinely useful — not content designed to extract clicks and commissions at the expense of the reader’s financial wellbeing. Here is what we commit to, regardless of who advertises with us:
- Accuracy before revenue: No affiliate commission will ever cause us to publish inaccurate financial information. If the numbers do not support a recommendation, we do not make it.
- Regular disclosure updates: This page is updated whenever a new partnership begins, changes, or ends. You can always check this page for the current state of our commercial relationships.
- Tool neutrality: Our free finance tools calculate results based on actual market data — not based on which apps or platforms pay us. A tool that shows your cheapest option will always show the genuinely cheapest option.
- No hidden paid placements: If a product appears in a “Best Of” ranking, it is there because it earned that position. If it is there because of a paid sponsorship, it is clearly labelled as sponsored.
- Honest reviews of partners: We include negative aspects, user complaints, and red flags in reviews of our affiliate partners. A partnership does not buy a glowing review.
- Free tools stay free: All 10 TurnetFinance finance tools are and will remain free to use. Advertising and affiliate revenue is how we fund this commitment, not a reason to gate the tools.
- Nigerian reader first: Every commercial decision is weighed against its impact on the Nigerian readers who trust this platform. If a partnership would harm our readers’ financial interests, we decline it.
