💡 Nigerian Budget Realities

Rent takes the most. In Lagos, rent alone consumes 30–60% of most salaries. If it is above 40%, something else will suffer.

Transport is underestimated. A daily commute in Lagos costs ₦600–₦1,500 per day — that is ₦15k–₦35k monthly before anything else.

The 20% savings rule is hard. On salaries below ₦100k, saving 10% consistently is already excellent. Build the habit first.

Emergency fund first. Before investing, build 3 months of expenses in a PiggyVest or Cowrywise safety vault. Life in Nigeria is unpredictable.
